Keeping you safe when shopping online
Get ready for additional security steps when making purchases online
Like all other UK card issuers, we’re adding additional security checks when shopping online to make sure your purchases are as safe and secure as possible. It’s important you’re prepared for these changes so you can continue to shop on the web using your credit card.
What’s changing?
Soon, you might notice an extra step during the checkout process when you shop online, which will help us to ensure it’s you and only you making the purchase. You may be asked to open your Jaja mobile app to verify the online purchase you’re making during the checkout process.
This additional step to verify your purchases, known as Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), will replace the one-time passcodes that are sometimes sent by text message or email today during online transactions.
To make sure you’re ready for when these changes come in, you’ll need to have downloaded the Jaja Credit Card app.
You won’t be able to verify your online purchases without the app, which means we may have to decline them.
To download the app, visit your App Store or Google Play and search for ‘Jaja Credit Card’ to download and install. You may need to register online first before you can log in to app for the first time and verify your purchases. Visit our guide to registering for more details.

Although using strong passwords can provide a level of security to your account, they can still be compromised and used by fraudsters to gain access to your personal information. So, we’re adding extra security steps so we can ensure it’s you and only you that’s making a purchase with your Jaja Credit Card. During the additional step, we’ll use two methods of verifying your identity using a combination of the following factors:
- Something you know – a secret piece of information that only you know, like your password.
- Something you have - a device you own, for example, your mobile phone or tablet.
- Something you are - something that’s unique to you, for example, your fingerprint or facial recognition.
There might be instances where we don’t ask you to verify your purchase, so don’t worry if you’re not asked to confirm every time.
