Making a payment

Choose how to make a payment in a method that suits you – in app, online, from your bank account or over the phone.

You’ll find your payment due date in the Payments section of your app and online account, and on your monthly statement. This is the day by which your payment must reach us. Some payment methods can take a few days to process. It’s important to consider this when making your payment so that you can avoid any late payment fees or avoid paying too much.

Pay using Direct Debit

By far the easiest way to make sure you never miss a payment is to set up a Direct Debit. This means we’ll collect the amount you specify every month automatically from your bank account, without the need for you to make the payment yourself. The only thing you’ll need to do is make sure you’ve got enough money in your account to cover the payment.

You’ll need to set up your Direct Debit at least 7 days before your payment due date to make sure the payment reaches us in time. If your payment is due in less than that, you should make a payment another way to make sure we receive it on time.

To set up your Direct Debit, simply open the Jaja Credit Card app, select Payments on your Card tab (or the Card & Payments tab in your online account), and choose Direct Debit. Once there you can choose from one of three payment amounts: 

  • Your full statement balance. 
  • The minimum payment. 
  • A fixed amount set by you. 

Once you’ve set up your Direct Debit, we’ll take your monthly payment from your selected bank account by your payment due date.  It’s important you make sure there’s enough money in your bank account to pay your bill every month.

You can manage and make changes to your Direct Debit using the app. Please be aware: 

  • It will take up to 7 working days for any changes you make to your Direct Debit to come into effect.
  • If you make any other kind of payment within 7 days of your due date while having a Direct Debit set up, we may still take your payment and you may end up paying twice.

Pay directly from your bank account

1. Pay from your Jaja Credit Card app

A Direct Bank Payment lets you easily connect to your bank account using Open Banking technology, verifying your payment through your banking provider’s mobile app.

To make a Direct Bank payment, head to the Card tab in the app and select Payments. From there, press the Pay now button next to Direct Bank Payment. Choose the amount you’d like to pay, and then you’ll be asked to choose your bank from a list of compatible providers. You’ll then be directed to log into your online banking app to approve the payment.

Please allow up to one working day for payment to be credited to your account.

2. Make a transfer from your internet banking provider

You can also make payments directly from your banking provider, using your 16-digit Jaja Credit Card number as your payment reference. You must provide your card number without spaces or dashes, to ensure we’re able to apply your payment quickly and accurately.

Pay by debit card

You can also make one-off payments towards your balance with your debit card, through your app or online banking. 

Simply select Payments on your Card tab in the app (or the Card & Payments tab in your online account) and choose Debit card payment, before following the prompts on your screen.

You can pay any amount you choose above your minimum payment.

If you’re unable to access your app or online account, you can also pay by debit card on our automated phone service. Contact our Customer Services line and have your Jaja Credit Card to hand.
